HISTORY
What began simply as a golf club evolved into the Town of Cedar Valley. Located in Logan County, Oklahoma, Cedar Valley was incorporated in 1982. There are two distinct residential communities known as Cedar Valley East (CVE) and Cedar Valley West (CVW), connected by a seventy-five-foot-wide strip of land that runs along Highway 33. The Town begins just outside the City of Guthrie on Broadway and ends on May Avenue, one mile south of the Cimarron River.
The golf course was developed by Claude “Duffy” Martin and Juanita Martin in 1973 and constructed by members of the Martin family. From planting the grass to digging out the ponds this was a family affair. The Martin family is still the sole proprietor of the Cedar Valley Golf Club. Link to https://www.cedarvalleygolfclub.com/ to learn more about the courses and more about Duffy Martin and his vision.
With a total of four public courses (two, 18-hole courses at each), Cimarron National Golf Club and Cedar Valley Golf Club, offers the approximate 319 residents of Cedar Valley a tranquil place to call home. The rolling hills and ponds are home to many birds and waterfowl, as well as deer and other four-footed critters. The howl of coyotes and hooting of owls will lull the restless to a deep sleep. The greens are soothing and the wind passing through the cedar trees make this community the location you will want to call home.
The Town has approximately 153 homesites as of mid-2021. According to the latest Census data most of the employed residents are professionals and managers who commute to work in nearby cities., with a median household income of $80,085. Median home value is $282,083. There are no apartments or condos within Cedar Valley.
Cedar Valley is home to many retirees who enjoy all that is offered in Cedar Valley without losing the convenience of amenities found in nearby larger cities.
